Frequently Asked Questions
Getting Started and Scheduling
How do I begin?
Complete our intake form. We’ll review your concerns, verify benefits, and schedule a pediatric speech and language evaluation if recommended. You’ll leave the first visits with clear goals and two or three home ideas.
Next step: schedule an evaluation → /evaluations
Where do you offer speech therapy for kids near me?
In-person therapy is available in Houston (Galleria) and Cypress (Bridgeland), and online therapy is available across Texas. Many families choose hybrid plans to balance school and consistency.

How long are sessions and how often are they scheduled?
Sessions are typically 30 minutes. Frequency depends on goals and clinical need, often once or twice per week. We will recommend a schedule after your evaluation.
Evaluations and Goals
What happens in a pediatric speech and language evaluation?
We combine observation, standardized tools, and real-life tasks suited to your child’s age. We look at speech sounds, language understanding and expression, fluency, comfort, and voice stamina as relevant. You’ll receive a clear plan tied to everyday life.

How do you pick goals?
Together. We focus on what matters most now… being understood, following directions, speaking comfortably, or protecting voice stamina… then adjust as your child grows.
Therapy Formats and Settings
Is online therapy effective for young children?
It can be, with strong visuals and light parent coaching. We keep steps short and engaging and design home ideas that fit your routines.

Can we switch between in-person and online (hybrid)?
Yes. Many families do. We’ll help you choose a mix that supports progress and fits your schedule.
Home Practice and School Collaboration
What will practice at home look like?
Short and steady. You’ll get two or three micro-practice ideas after each session… like a quick story retell or 10 articulation reps during a game. We’ll keep it manageable and motivating.
Can you coordinate with my child’s teacher?
With your permission, yes. We align prompts and expectations to support carryover during reading, group work, and class discussions.
Services and Ages
What ages do you serve?
We focus on children 18 months through 12 years old. Services include articulation therapy, language therapy, stuttering therapy, voice therapy, early intervention (toddlers/preschool), and pediatric speech-language evaluations.

At Therapy For Life, we are committed to helping every child reach their full potential through personalized, evidence-based care. Insurance, Pricing, and Policies
Do you accept insurance?
We accept commercial insurance and verify benefits during intake (no Medicaid). We’ll explain coverage and any expected out-of-pocket costs before you begin.

What is your cancellation policy?
Please provide 24 hours’ notice to avoid late-cancellation fees. When illness or conflicts arise, we can often switch in-person sessions to online to keep progress moving.
What Progress Looks Like
What should we expect to change first?
Small, encouraging wins. Clearer favorite words, more complete sentences at home, smoother starts in conversation, or a voice that lasts longer through the day. As confidence grows, teachers often notice easier participation and fewer breakdowns.
How will we know therapy is working?
We track your progress and share clear updates. You’ll see goals tied to everyday moments at home and school, and you’ll get simple visuals or trackers when helpful.
